The rescue service in Västerås has worked on a fire in an apartment building in Bäckby, Västerås, during the night and residents have had to leave their apartments.
According to the police in Region Mitt, the rescue service was alerted a few hours before midnight, but the operation was still ongoing early on Friday morning. The police do not know of any reports of people being injured in the fire.
According to VLT, residents who were evacuated, around 30 people, were offered a place to sleep in a nearby school.
The fire is believed to have started on a balcony on the top floor.
