A recycling center in Skelleftehamn is on fire and a VMA has been issued.
The residents of Skelleftehamn and Örviken in Skellefteå municipality are advised to stay indoors and close doors, windows, and ventilation due to the heavy smoke development.
The fire broke out on Sunday morning in a large pile of electronic waste. Several units from the rescue service are working on extinguishing the fire.
A county road in the area has been closed in both directions due to the smoke reducing visibility.
The warning to the public to stay indoors will remain in place until at least midnight, according to the rescue service.
