A VMA, important message to the general public, has been issued due to the heavy smoke development. The general public is urged to go indoors and to close doors, windows, and ventilation.

According to local media, the fire started on Friday in recyclable materials at the facility, but on Sunday it has flared up again and spread due to strong winds.

There are about 20 units there and working on the fire, says Johan Magnusson, alarm operator at SOS Alarm>, to SVT Värmland.

The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) has sent two helicopters to the site to combat the fire and limit the risk of spread.

They are on site now. There are nearby activities that one does not want the fire to spread to, says Anna Wennerström, press officer at MSB.

The police are on site with several units and have evacuated activities in the surrounding areas, writes Nya Wermlands-Tidningen. Several roads around the area have also been blocked off.
