Smoke from the fire is reported to have been felt during the evening and night at several locations in the city. At around 04.30, a VMA – important message to the public – was issued due to the heavy smoke development.
It's still burning heavily, there's a significant smoke spread over the entire city, says Lotta Molander, alarm and management manager at the rescue service, to Göteborgs-Posten.
At 07.30, the rescue service reports that it's okay to go to work and move outdoors. But the smell of smoke remains in large parts of Göteborg – and if you experience discomfort from the smoke, you should stay indoors and close windows, doors, and ventilation.
The fire started at 19.35 on Monday.
