Fire at Gothenburg Refinery Injures Three, One Seriously

The fire at an oil refinery on Hisingen in Gothenburg has been extinguished, according to the rescue service. Three people have been injured, one of them seriously.

The alarm came at 16:10 on Good Friday. The rescue service sent several units to the site and were later able to extinguish the fire.

We have extinguished the fire some time ago and are monitoring it in consultation with the refinery staff. says the rescue service's alarm and control operator Bosse Florell at 18:20.

Three people were taken to Sahlgrenska University Hospital. According to the hospital's press service, a 35-year-old man has severe but not life-threatening injuries. The other two, aged 35 and 60, have minor injuries.

A warning signal was heard over parts of Gothenburg in connection with the outbreak of the fire, but there was no danger to the general public.
