For the first time in six years, Sweden's bandy team lost a World Cup match. Host nation Finland turned things around and won 4–3.

The loss in the group final means that Sweden will face a more difficult semi-final on Saturday. Instead of the USA, whom Sweden beat 17–2 the other day, it will now be Norway that stands between Sweden and a World Cup final.

Sweden, on the other hand, defeated Norway 12–1 on Wednesday, so anything other than a blue-and-yellow victory in the semi-final would still be a sensation.

However, Finland shows that Sweden's World Cup gold is anything but a given this year. Despite a nightmare start in front of the home crowd in Pori - Sweden led 2–0 before the clock reached four minutes - the Finns managed to come back and win.

Emil Fedorov was the hero, scoring the winning goal, 4–3, in the 86th minute.

The last time Sweden lost at the World Cup was in the final against Russia in 2019.
