Finland's women's hockey team has been hit by a stomach bug the day before the Olympic hockey tournament starts. The team canceled both training and a press conference on Wednesday, Swedish broadcaster Yle reports.

Four Finnish players have suffered a stomach illness the day before the team's opening match against Canada at the Olympics.

The team suspended all activities on Wednesday and the affected players have been isolated in their rooms. All team facilities in both the Olympic Village and the hockey arena will be disinfected.

It is unclear whether or how the Swedish women's national team will respond to the announcement from Finland. Damkronor's press manager, Linus Hugosson, denied requests to interview the team's doctor and referred inquiries to SOK (the Swedish Olympic Committee) and to a press conference later on Wednesday.
