Finland filed a protest on Saturday after the controversy in which Norway was allowed to use waxing equipment that other nations had not been told was allowed, and in which the United States brought a bottle of liquid onto the track.
FIS said in a statement that the protest was submitted too late and therefore cannot be processed. The federation emphasized that "a protest against another athlete or an athlete’s equipment must be submitted no later than 15 minutes after the unofficial results have been published."
Because Finland's protest was submitted on Saturday, several days after the race on Tuesday, the protest "can no longer be processed," FIS wrote, according to VG.
