The tournament's big surprise, Finland, started the match at a fierce pace and took an early lead with 11–4.
Then Germany woke up and shifted into a higher gear. The three-pointers started coming in and Finland's NBA star Lauri Markkanen was taken hard by the German defense.
At halftime, Germany led with a whole 61–47 where the star Franz Wagner, belonging to Orlando in the NBA, had scored all 20 points.
The second half continued in the same way and Germany's defense continued to celebrate big triumphs. The Germans controlled the match until the end and could take an easy victory.
Finland must now prepare for the bronze match. It is played on Sunday.
Germany's final opponent will be either Turkey or Greece. That semifinal is played later on Friday evening. The final of the European Championship is also played on Sunday.
