That Sweden would win the semifinal match against the USA was more or less a given beforehand, but the opponents managed to resist surprisingly long.
Then it went away.
Vladimir In-Fa-Lin scored 1–0 on a rebound in the 19th minute, Christoffer Edlund increased the lead a minute later before Christofer Fagerström shot 3–0 in the 26th.
The score was 7–0 at halftime and in the second half the goal fest became even more intense. Edlund, Fagerström, and Martin Landström each scored four goals in the 22–0 rout.
In the World Championship final, Finland awaits, just like two years ago. The Finns had to work a bit harder in their semifinal, but decided after halftime against Norway and won 5–2 (2–2).
When Sweden and Finland met in the group stage, it was a blue-yellow victory with 8–3.
