Fined on TV - gets million fine

To swear on TV is not something you take lightly in the NBA. Just ask Anthony Edwards. The Minnesota star is forced to pay a fine of 1.1 million kronor for his foul language.

After an NBA match between Minnesota and Houston, Anthony Edwards appeared on a live TV interview. It would become one of his most expensive interviews in his career.

After swearing multiple times within a few seconds, the star was fined a hefty sum of 100,000 dollars, equivalent to 1.1 million kronor.

But the fine did not come out of the blue. The high amount is largely due to a series of incidents where Edwards used coarse language.

"The fine is based partly on Edwards' history of using profanity during interviews," writes the NBA in a statement.

As recently as a week ago, Edwards was fined, then for 75,000 dollars, equivalent to approximately 820,000 kronor, for publicly criticizing the referees.

Hopefully, Edwards could go to bed with a clear conscience anyway. The match ended 113–112 in favor of Minnesota, after Edwards himself decided the game with a three-pointer.
