Mårder was remanded in custody on Friday. He is suspected, on probable grounds, of four counts of aggravated insider trading between 2024 and 2026. On Saturday, an appeal was submitted to the Court of Appeal, where Mårder's attorney argued that he should be released from custody.
The Court of Appeal rejected the appeal, according to a decision seen by the business newspaper. The decision does not state on what grounds the court rejected the appeal.
Günther Mårder denies any wrongdoing. He has resigned from several boards since his arrest. On Monday afternoon, marketplace Spotlight also announced that Mårder is leaving that company's board.
