Mårder was remanded in custody on Friday. He is suspected, on probable grounds, of four cases of aggravated insider trading between 2024 and 2026. On Saturday, an appeal was submitted to the Court of Appeal, in which Mårder's attorney argued that he should be released from custody.
The Court of Appeal rejected the appeal, according to a decision that the business newspaper has seen. The decision does not state on what grounds the Court of Appeal rejected the appeal.
Günther Mårder denies any wrongdoing. He has resigned from several boards since his arrest.
