"The government in power will have to answer that, but my starting point is that this (the VAT reduction) is temporary to get the economy going, so that we don't get stuck in this recession that is actually causing quite a bit of chaos," she says.
The reduction in food VAT from twelve to six percent is intended to extend until the end of 2027.
"I still think that one should be prepared for the fact that it is very likely that it will return to the level it is at right now," says Svantesson.
