Already last year, it was revealed that Disney had plans for a sequel. The first film was based on Lauren Weisberger's novel with the same name from 2003.
"The Devil Wears Prada" is about the newly graduated journalist Andrea "Andy" Sachs (Anne Hathaway), who gets her dream job at a fashion magazine. She becomes an assistant to the very demanding editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep). Now the sequel is coming – 20 years later.
According to Deadline, the actors Meryl Streep (Miranda Priestly), Anne Hathaway (Andrea "Andy" Sachs), Emily Blunt (Emily Charlton) and Stanley Tucci (Nigel Kipling) are returning to their roles in the sequel. David Frankel is once again responsible for the direction.
The film will be about how Miranda Priestly handles the crisis-ridden magazine industry, according to Deadline. "The Devil Wears Prada 2" is expected to have a cinema premiere in the summer of 2026.
