Former Chelsea and Atlético Madrid defender Filipe Luis took Flamengo to the final of the Rio de Janeiro state championship - and on Tuesday he and his assistant coach were fired from the club.
"As of Tuesday, Filipe Luis will no longer be in charge of the team," the Brazilian football club announced.
During Luis's time as coach, he led Flamengo to titles in the Brazilian league and the Copa Libertadores, according to Football Channel.
