Färjestad strengthens its hockey team with Swedish defenseman Filip Roos. The 26-year-old, with Kungsbacka-based Hanhals IF as his parent club, comes most recently from playing in the North American farm league AHL.

"Filip is a really good two-way defenseman at the SHL level. He is strong on skates, has good size, and can play in all zones", says Färjestad's sports director Rickard Wallin to the Karlstad club's website.

Roos played 50 SHL games, and six more in the SM playoffs, for Skellefteå before moving to the NHL team Blackhawks in 2022. During the three seasons in North America, it became 21 matches in the NHL and 166 in the AHL.

The contract is for two years.
