”When Häcken called, it felt right. I'm very happy about this solution which is good both in terms of football and for the family”, says Helander in a statement.

The centre-back belongs to Cypriot Omonia Nicosia, but is loaned out to Häcken for the rest of the year.

”With Filip, we get a merited centre-back with great experience of international play who strengthens the defensive line in a good way”, says Häcken's football manager Martin Ericsson.

Helander has made 21 international appearances, and has previously played for Malmö FF in Allsvenskan. He has also played for clubs such as Bologna and Hellas Verona in Italy as well as Glasgow Rangers in Scotland.
