Lars Hammar is the main person in Filip and Fredrik's film "The Last Journey", which received two awards at the Guldbagge Awards. But he couldn't get up on stage and be there when his son and Fredrik Wikingsson received the award.
In his podcast, Filip Hammar directs sharp criticism at the organizers of the film gala for not being able to arrange a ramp for his wheelchair-bound father Lars.
My dad whispered to me: "We won these awards, how fun to go up on stage", but then there's no ramp, says Filip Hammar.
Later, SVT apologized and took full responsibility.
"We understand that Filip Hammar is disappointed about this, there should have been a ramp. We apologize and will review our routines", says project leader Matilda Bagge in a written comment to TT.
However, the apology is not accepted by Filip Hammar.
It's fascinating that SVT apologizes. The truth is that they very well knew about the need for a ramp since our producer Lars Beckung called in advance and asked them to arrange one. But the message we got was that it was impossible to arrange, says Hammar to Svenska Dagbladet, and adds:
It would have taken just two planks.
Dad Lars Hammar had to stay below the stage when the Guldbagge for best documentary was to be awarded.
Something inside me broke when I thought about the fact that here, where all these fine humanistic messages are supposed to be communicated, and the importance of, you know, now damn it, the cultural budget is going to be cut and so on, but yeah, disabled people can't even get up on stage, says Filip Hammar in his podcast and continues:
I'll stop there, it's the same crap, but you should be ashamed.
