Filip Forsberg scored 76 points (31 goals and 45 assists) for Nashville in the past NHL season, which missed the playoffs. He has previously played in two World Championships with Tre Kronor and was part of the team that won the World Championship gold in Denmark in 2018.
The Ice Hockey World Championship will be played on May 9-25 in Stockholm and Herning, Denmark. Sweden will play all its matches in Stockholm.
