On Wednesday, the major fuel chains will lower the price of both gasoline and diesel by 55 öre per liter, according to the companies' prices for corporate customers, which are usually followed by similar price changes for private motorists.
In the past week, the price of gasoline has fallen by 1.45 kronor per liter. Diesel has also fallen by 1.55 kronor per liter. Hopes for a quick peace in the Middle East have put downward pressure on oil prices.
The new price of gasoline is now just under 18 kronor per liter for private customers, while diesel drivers will have to pay just over 20 kronor per liter.
But it is still clearly higher than before the war began on February 28, when gasoline cost just over 15 kronor and diesel around 17 kronor. Even so, the government has since lowered the tax by 1 krona and 40 öre, respectively.
