FIFA states on social media that supporters are allowed to bring one factory-sealed, small, disposable bottle of transparent plastic each to the World Cup matches played in the United States and Canada.
The third host country, Mexico, is not mentioned in this context by FIFA.
After previously being given the green light, ticket holders were recently told that bringing their own reusable water bottles would be banned during the World Cup, despite forecasts of high temperatures. FIFA justified the change by saying it would “prevent risks and injuries to players and spectators.”
The World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19.
