In a letter that AFP news agency has seen, Infantino is reported to have expressed support for increasing funding to the highest possible level "that can be distributed in a responsible manner."
Furthermore, Infantino is said to have claimed that the failed and widely criticised proposal to sell shares in the Men's World Cup was aimed at generating additional revenue for football.
The information comes as pressure continues to mount on the chairman ahead of FIFA's board meeting on October 15. Calls for Infantino's resignation have been repeatedly made, not least by the European Football Association (UEFA).
