This was announced by Fifa President Gianni Infantino during an event on Manhattan, according to NTB.

Fifa is a global organization, and to be global you also have to be local. You have to be everywhere, so we have to be in New York, said Infantino.

Fifa already has offices in Miami, and this expansion further strengthens the ties between Infantino and US President Donald Trump.

Infantino attended Trump's presidential inauguration earlier this year. After that, the Fifa President has also been present in the Oval Office.

Thanks, of course, also to President Trump, who is a big football fan, added Infantino and continued:

We have received enormous support from the President for both the club team World Championship and the World Championship next year.

The statements came ahead of the semi-finals in the club team World Championship, which is played at an arena just across the Hudson River from Manhattan.

In 2026, the World Championship in football awaits in the USA, Mexico and Canada. It will be the first time the World Championship is arranged with 48 teams.
