Real Madrid won against Mexican Pachuca with 3–1 and thus took their first victory in the tournament. But after the match, the win came to be overshadowed by something else.

When Rüdiger and Cabral clashed just before the final signal, Cabral is said to have expressed himself in a racist manner towards Rüdiger.

"Toni" has told us what happened. Fifa is now investigating this. We believe him. It is unacceptable, says Real coach Xabi Alonso according to The Athletic.

Himself, Cabral denies that he should have uttered anything racist towards the German.

We collided. He said that I hit him with my hand and then it became a discussion. In Argentina, we say ”cagón de mierda” (a coarse expression for coward, editor's note), and that was the only thing I said to him the whole time.
