FIFA does not want to see scandals during the World Cup like those that have unfolded in Europe and the African Championships this season.

According to the BBC, the rule changes will be introduced at the World Cup. The decision was made during an extraordinary meeting in Vancouver, Canada.

Both rule changes have been approved for the specific competition by the International Football Association Board (IFAB), which determines the rules of football, Aftonbladet reports.

For now, the rules will only apply during the World Cup.
