Following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Russia and the country's national football team were suspended from international play.
It can now be lifted.
"FIFA will analyse the decision before deciding on the next steps, in coordination with relevant stakeholders," a FIFA spokesperson told Sky Sports.
FIFA has already given Russia's U15 national team permission to take part in a youth tournament in Azerbaijan in October.
And in February, FIFA President Gianni Infantino opened the door to a possible return for Russian teams.
"This suspension has achieved nothing. It has only created more frustration and hatred," Infantino said at the time.
