According to documents from the International Football Association Board (FIFA), which the AFP news agency has seen, FIFA wants to challenge UEFA's request in three American courts.
UEFA's aim is to gain access to documents regarding plans to sell shares in the Men's World Cup, and then start legal proceedings in Switzerland against chairman Gianni Infantino.
But FIFA argues that UEFA cannot demand internal FIFA documents because there is no legal process yet. Furthermore, FIFA argues that UEFA lacks standing because it has not suffered any financial damage.
