Not even one in two people with home care has so far been vaccinated against influenza and Covid-19. In the age group 65–74, it is only one in four, the Public Health Agency of Sweden writes on its website .
The proportion is lower than among the elderly who do not have home care, where 56 percent have currently been vaccinated.
"People who need home care to make everyday life work may need help, for example from loved ones, to get vaccinated," says Tina Crafoord, chief physician and head of the vaccination unit at the Swedish Public Health Agency.
People with home care have an increased risk of being hospitalized if they get COVID-19 or the flu, according to the Swedish Public Health Agency.
