Fewer private US jobs than expected

Employment in the private economy increased less than expected in May, according to figures from the payroll processing company ADP.

During the month, 152,000 new jobs were added, compared to 188,000 in April, according to slightly downwardly revised figures. Economists had on average estimated 175,000 jobs.
