The proportion of households that believe in rising housing prices in the coming year stands at 60 percent in July, a decrease of 2 units from the previous month. This is shown by SEB's housing price indicator.
"After 7 months of rising housing price expectations, the Housing Price Indicator finally experienced a slowdown, similar to previous increases during its over 20-year history. The indicator is slowing down at a high level, and 60 percent of Swedes still believe in rising housing prices. Following the Swedish Central Bank's latest interest rate announcement, there is reason to believe that we have not yet seen the peak of this increase in housing price expectations", says SEB's private economist Américo Fernández in a press release.
9 percent of households believe in falling prices, a decrease of 1 unit. The proportion that believes in unchanged prices increases by 2 units from the previous month to 20 percent.
Households planning to fix their variable mortgage interest rates decrease by 4 units from the previous month to 7 percent.
