Fewer Homes Are Selling Below Asking Price as Supply Falls

For apartments, the figure is 6 percentage points lower than in the same period in 2025, while the decline for single-family homes is even greater, at 11 percentage points.

The figures can also be compared with what it looked like at the end of December, when more than one in two homes was sold below the asking price.

The change is related to the fact that supply has begun to decrease, according to Hemnet analyst Erik Holmberg.

"For several years, we have had a situation where a large proportion of homes have been sold below the asking price. This has been partly due to high asking prices, but also to cautious demand combined with a large supply," says Erik Holmberg, analyst at Hemnet, in a press release.
