Last year, just under 1.43 million crimes were reported, which was 50,663 fewer than the year before, according to preliminary statistics from the authority.
This represents a three percent reduction compared with 2024.
The crime category that decreased the most was theft, with 43,281 fewer crimes reported, a 12 percent decrease. The largest percentage decrease was vandalism. Reported crimes in this category decreased by 13 percent.
Reported drug crimes and traffic offenses also decreased.
At the same time, reported fraud increased by one percent. Card fraud rose by ten percent.
Reports of crimes against the person increased by two percent, with harassment and assault increasing by six percent and four percent respectively.
