Withdrawals from ATMs continue to decline. In the second half of last year, the average Swede withdrew 335 kronor per month.

This represents a decrease of 15 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2024. The decline is believed to be partly due to a larger number of ATMs being shut down in July and August. This followed Bankomat becoming responsible for cash transport to the ATMs.

Over time, cash withdrawals have decreased by an average of ten percent annually, according to Bankomat's figures.

Regionally, residents of Skåne County withdraw the most cash, SEK 434 per month, followed by Blekinge County at SEK 354. Residents of Östergötland County withdraw the least, SEK 195 on average.
