Six of the 32 people who hold top positions in the Riksdag's committees and the EU Committee are women, according to a review by SR Ekot.

This means that 26 of those who are chairs and vice-chairs of the committees are men, according to the review conducted on February 1. This is despite the fact that almost half of all members of parliament are women.

The number of women in positions has also decreased since the last election. The parties themselves decide who will be the chair and deputy chair of the parliamentary committees and the EU Committee.

Minister for Gender Equality Nina Larsson (L) is not satisfied with the distribution.

"I think it's too bad. Representation and role models matter," she said on the radio.
