The legendary former Manchester United coach, Alex Ferguson, is ending his role as ambassador for the club. This follows the club undergoing major internal changes after the takeover by new part-owner Jim Ratcliffe.
Ferguson has held the role of club ambassador since he retired as coach in 2013.
The legendary Scot is said to have received £2.16 million per year for his ambassadorial role, according to English media reports.
The club emphasizes, however, that Ferguson will always be welcome at Old Trafford.
As coach, Alex Ferguson won 13 Premier League titles with the club. In addition, among other things, two Champions League titles and a historic treble in 1999 (the league, the league cup, and Champions League).
