Robin Morgan became one of the leading figures in "second-wave feminism" in the United States and, in 1968, was one of the organizers of the first protest against the Miss America competition.

In the early 1980s, she was one of the founders of a feminist think tank. She was also friends with feminist icon Gloria Steinem, who founded the magazine Ms. Robin Morgan worked for the magazine for several years and was also its editor-in-chief for a few years.

In 2005, Robin Morgan, along with Gloria Steinem and actress Jane Fonda, founded the organisation Women's Media Center.

Robin Morgan died on Saturday in New York after a brief illness, according to her son Blake Morgan. Her death came just days after the death of Gloria Steinem.
