British actor Ian McKellen misses three performances after falling from a theatre stage in London, reports BBC.
McKellen, who played the wizard Gandalf in the "Lord of the Rings" films, is currently starring in the play "Player Kings", which has been running on the West End since April. The three final performances in London will see his character played by actor David Semark.
McKellen was hospitalised after falling from the stage on 17 June. The 85-year-old actor screamed in pain after the fall, according to a BBC journalist who was at the theatre, which was evacuated after the accident.
A spokesperson for McKellen has previously stated that the actor is in good spirits and will recover quickly. He is expected to be back on stage on 3 July, when the production opens in Bristol, in south-west England.
