When Sweden's squad for the European Championship was presented on Wednesday, the top scorer in the top division Felicia Schröder was missing.
A big disappointment, of course, for the 18-year-old who recently made her debut in the Blue and Yellow.
It would have been really fun, it's a dream, but unfortunately not this time. We have to hope that there will be more opportunities, says Schröder, who has not yet spoken to national team coach Peter Gerhardsson, to SVT.
In the women's top division, the success continues, however. At the beginning of the second half, Schröder received the ball just outside AIK's penalty area, set it up for her right foot and nicely drilled the ball into the goalkeeper's left corner.
But only a few minutes later, disaster struck. After a duel with AIK's Matilda Plan, Schröder twisted her ankle and was forced to substitute with a bandaged left foot.
Schröder's goal meant 3–0 for Häcken, who eventually won with a crushing 6–0 and thus climbed to the top of the series – two points ahead of Hammarby, who on Monday will face third-placed Djurgården.
Häcken had two two-goal scorers, Carly Wickenheiser and Paulina Nyström.
