The 19-year-old blue-and-yellow international moved to Real Madrid this summer after scoring for Häcken in the Swedish women's league for several seasons.
Schröder made her competitive debut for Madrid in the best possible way. In the 42nd minute, she stepped up and took a free kick a few metres outside the penalty area against Ajax in the Netherlands. With her right foot, Schröder sent in a fine finish for 1-0, and her first competitive goal for her new club was a fact.
Teammate Janou Levels sealed the 2-0 victory in the second half. The return leg will be played in Madrid next week. The winner over the two legs will qualify for the league phase of the Champions League.
