She's hungover - but also noticeably emotional - Felicia is doing interviews continuously the day after winning Melodifestivalen. She says she never took anything for granted, even though she had been the big favorite to win the entire competition for several weeks.
When the juries cast their votes, I thought it would be Medina or Greczula, because they got so many points. I wasn't stressed, I was calm and just thought that what happens, happens.
She received three twelve-pointers from the juries, but so did Medina. Greczula received two. When the Swedish public's votes were counted, however, it was clear that she had finished far ahead of the other artists.
I was completely shocked and didn't really understand what happened.
“Believe in myself”
In 2024, she participated in Melodifestivalen for the first time, then as Fröken Snusk with the song "Unga och fria", which narrowly missed the final. But Felicia has always been a big fan of the competition, ever since she was little.
I have always followed it slavishly and stood and danced in front of the TV. If little Felicia had known that I would win one day, she would have said, "What did I say?"
I've always believed in myself, but sometimes I've doubted that I'll become a superstar.
In almost exactly two months, she will be leaving for Vienna for the Eurovision Song Contest, an event that Felicia has mixed feelings about.
"I don't think it's a good idea for Israel to participate. I've been thinking about how I should do it and whether I should go at all, but I've made up my mind. I'm going and then I'll have to make sure they don't win," she says with a laugh.
Maybe reveal her face
Another question that is nagging is whether she should appear in Eurovision with the mask on or not, she says.
It's still a while away and if I feel mentally ready, I'll show my face. I practice every day to feel strong enough. Maybe I'll throw the mask away, maybe not. We'll see.
The reception for "My System", which Felicia describes as an unusual Melodifestival song, has been good. But many are also critical of the EDM and techno vibes.
When people don't like the song, I feel like, "What the hell are you talking about?" It's the best song I've ever heard. I guess the people who hate it are the ones who don't have great taste in music.
