Brazilian footballer Marta has been named the world's best footballer six times, but she had her international breakthrough at Umeå IK, where she joined in 2004 at the age of 18.
Now her life will be made into a feature film, and several scenes will be shot in Luleå. Several Swedish actors are involved, including Torkel Petersson. Swedish producers are also working on the film, which is directed by Brazilian Andrucha Waddington.
The title role is played by Alice Carvalho, who was recently seen in the Oscar-nominated "The Secret Agent". The film "Marta" is scheduled to premiere next year, when the World Cup will be played in Brazil.
