Several FBI agents have been fired. The reason is that they were caught on camera kneeling during protests during the extensive protests against discrimination and violence against blacks in 2020, according to sources for the news agency AP.

According to two sources, around 20 FBI employees have been fired. The firings have upset several within the FBI, but have also been seen as a possible tactic to reduce the mood during the protests.

The organization FBI Agents Association has in a statement confirmed that over twelve agents have been fired and has urged Congress to investigate the matter. The FBI has not commented on the information.

The protests gained momentum, among other things, after George Floyd was suffocated to death during a police intervention in Minneapolis 2020.
