More than 100 times, Fauci, on the advice of lawyers, invoked his constitutional right not to answer during the hearing on the origins of Covid-19.
The hearing was held after Senator Rand Paul published more than 1,000 pages of Fauci's notes from the pandemic and called him to testify under oath. According to Rand Paul, the texts contain different information from what Fauci told the American people.
Rand Paul repeated during the hearing claims that the pandemic originated in a laboratory, which he said was covered up.
Fauci said in advance that he would invoke the Fifth Amendment because of what he said was Rand Paul's "obsession" with him.
