A father of a young child was shot dead in his home in the middle of the night. The Court of Appeal has now upheld the district court's verdict in which two teenage boys and a man were convicted of involvement in the murder.

The Court of Appeal convicts a now 17-year-old boy of, among other things, murder and sets the sentence at eight years in prison.

The teenage boy, who was 16 years old at the time of the crime, has denied murder and stated that someone else fired the fatal shots.

The sentence for the 31-year-old man, who was also convicted in the Court of Appeal of aiding and abetting murder and aggravated drug trafficking, is increased from ten to eleven years in prison.

In the district court, another teenage boy, who was also 16 years old at the time of the crime, was sentenced to closed juvenile detention for aiding and abetting murder.

"Extremely ruthless"

It was on October 7, 2024 that the father of a young child, a 50-year-old man, was shot to death in his home in Malmö while the family was sleeping.

Prosecutor Mårten Alvinsson has previously called the murder "extremely ruthless". According to him, there is nothing to indicate that the father of a young child was the actual target.

There was no history on him and there is nothing to suggest that he was an actual intended victim or that he had anything to do with this conflict at all.

Connect to Foxtrot

According to Alvinsson, the people behind the murder are strongly connected to the Foxtrot network.

The person I mean is the shooter has committed similar acts in several cases, which we have also presented evidence for.

It has not been possible to prove who the actual target was.

But in the same house there was a person who is connected to the other side of the conflict, but whether it was actually the man they were going to target has not been shown by the investigation. It is more of a theory, says Alvinsson.
