The Spanish football prodigy, European Championship hero and Barcelona star Lamine Yamal's father is being cared for in hospital after being stabbed outside Barcelona, reports the newspaper La Vanguardia.
The father, Mounir Nasraoui, was reported to be seriously injured but is now in a stable condition. It is unclear why he was stabbed.
On Thursday afternoon, he took to Instagram to thank for the support he had received after the incident.
"Thanks to everyone for your support, I'm already feeling better, a big hug to you all," writes Nasraoui.
Four people have been arrested, according to local police to the news agency AFP.
Yamal was one of the players who stood out the most in Spain's gold team in the European Championship this summer. The super talent turned 17 years old during the championship, and became the youngest goal scorer in a European Championship for men after a dream goal in the semi-final win (2–1) against France.
