The boy, who was 14 at the time, shot two students and two teachers at his school outside Atlanta, Georgia, in 2024. He was arrested immediately after the crime, and the charges have not yet reached court, but his father has now been convicted of allowing his son to have a gun.
The father had given his son a gun as a Christmas present, even though, according to prosecutors, he had received "several warnings that his son could harm others." The son was obsessed with school shootings and reportedly had an altar in his room dedicated to the boy who shot and killed 17 people at a school in Parkland, Florida, in 2018.
The father was convicted of two counts of involuntary manslaughter and two counts of manslaughter, for the deaths of the students and teachers, respectively.
