Father and Son Reunite After Seven-Year Separation Due to False Accusations

For seven years, father and son were separated since the mother accused the father of sexual abuse against the son and the then seven-year-old boy for abuse against his little brother. Now he has been allowed to move back home to dad again, reports SVT's Mission Review.

It's huge, overwhelming, and huge. And a lot of emotions, of course. It's an incredible sense of freedom, says the father to SVT.

He is now redoing his son's nursery into a teenager's room.

The social services took the decision to forcibly take the boy into care, placing him in institutional care and foster care for several years. This happened even though both the district court and the court of appeal had granted the father sole custody, as the courts did not consider the allegations of abuse to be credible enough.

When a new social worker, after four years, began to investigate how the boy had been treated, it was found that there was no evidence to suggest that he had committed any abuse against other children. It also turned out that the boy had been pressured by the mother to tell about abuse from the father's side.

A external review of the previous decision is currently underway. At the same time, an investigation into official misconduct is ongoing.
