At least one person has died since a severe rainstorm has passed over Catalonia in northeastern Spain.

The person was found according to the rescue service in a river when they were searching for two people whose car is said to have been swept away in the floods. Local authorities are now investigating whether it was one of the missing persons who was found.

Also, air and rail traffic in the region is affected. To and from Barcelona airport, the country's second most trafficked, many flights have been delayed or cancelled.

Even in the neighboring country France, the bad weather is raging with around ten thousand households without electricity as a result. The airport in Marseille has been forced to redirect around ten flights and the football match between Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain was postponed until Monday.
