The news about Jörgen Jönsson taking over as head coach for Färjestad had barely cooled down before the former Växjö coach also lured away the Småland club's first goalie.
"I felt that I wanted a bit of a fresh start, and if I were to stay in SHL, Färjestad was absolutely a top choice. It's not just any club", says Emil Larmi to FBK's website.
Larmi, 28, was a key to Växjö's SM gold in 2023 and even though he, just like the team, has had a tougher season this year – out in the quarterfinals against Luleå – it's a significant reinforcement for Färjestad.
The Finn looks forward to continuing to play under Jörgen Jönsson.
"The way he has been in the locker room and outside is something that makes it fun to continue working with him", says Larmi.
Färjestad's goalie side is completed by 19-year-old talent Melker Thelin, who joins from Björklöven as a backup to Larmi. Thelin, one of Sweden's goalies during the Junior World Championship last winter, was temporarily loaned to Färjestad during the season and is now moving to Karlstad permanently.
