"After conversations with a number of people and stakeholders with a big green and white heart, we have chosen not to proceed with the collaboration with Cal Foote," the club writes in a press release.
Cal Foote was one of five Canadian junior international players charged, and acquitted, of sexual assault in connection with a high-profile trial following Canada's 2018 gold medal. All of the players denied any wrongdoing.
This week it was announced that Foote had signed for SHL club Färjestad. Now FBK has announced that it is ending its collaboration with the 27-year-old defenceman.
"The conditions to give the team, club or player in question the focus required to carry out their tasks in a good way no longer exist," Färjestad writes in a press release.
